Prescription and Medication Support in One Place
Nanton Family Pharmacy fills and transfers prescriptions, helps you understand your medications, organizes complex routines and assesses certain prescription-related concerns.

Prescription Services
We fill new and existing prescriptions and help transfer eligible prescriptions from another pharmacy. Before dispensing, the pharmacist reviews dose, directions, allergies, interactions and monitoring needs — and can explain how to use the medication and what to do if a dose is missed.
A pharmacist may be able to renew or adapt certain prescriptions after assessing your needs — changing dose, dosage form, instructions or length of treatment. This isn't automatic, and follow-up with the original prescriber may be recommended.
Learn About Prescription ServicesMedication Reviews
A medication review is a private, one-on-one consultation about everything you take — prescription and non-prescription products, vitamins, supplements, inhalers, creams, drops and injectables.
It's a chance to understand what each medication is for, review your schedule, and flag anything that may need prescriber follow-up. Eligibility and coverage requirements may apply.

Compounding Pharmacy
Compounding is the preparation of a medication for an individual patient according to a prescription — a non-standard strength, a prescribed alternative form, or a formulation without a particular ingredient.
Not every medication can or should be compounded. The pharmacist reviews the formulation, ingredients, evidence and pharmacy capabilities before accepting the prescription. Preparation time and cost depend on the formulation.
Ask About CompoundingCompliance and Blister Packaging
Compliance packaging organizes suitable medications by date and time — morning, noon, evening, bedtime or another prescribed schedule.
Not every medication can go into a package — inhalers, creams, liquids, injections, refrigerated products and as-needed medications may require separate storage. The pharmacist reviews your medication list before confirming it's appropriate.

Prescription Delivery
Delivery is available for eligible patients and medications — helpful for older adults, people with mobility challenges, patients without reliable transportation, caregivers and anyone managing ongoing maintenance medications.
Availability depends on the address, scheduling, medication requirements, required counselling and recipient availability. Some medications require pharmacy pickup instead.
Arrange Prescription DeliveryTransfer Your Prescriptions to Nanton Family Pharmacy
Our team can help transfer eligible prescriptions from another pharmacy. We'll contact the other pharmacy and coordinate eligible transfers.
Some prescriptions can't be transferred because of the medication type, remaining refills or provincial requirements. We'll explain your options if a new prescription is needed.
To begin, provide:
- ✓Your name and date of birth
- ✓Your contact information
- ✓The name of your current pharmacy
- ✓The medications you want transferred
- ✓Current insurance information
Prescription Refills
Request your refills before your medication runs out. Advance notice gives the pharmacy time to confirm authorized refills remain, check availability, process insurance, contact your prescriber if needed, prepare compliance packaging and arrange delivery.
Refill timing depends on the prescription, medication supply, insurance requirements and any follow-up that may be needed.
Insurance Claim Processing
We can submit eligible prescription claims to many public and private benefit plans. Coverage depends on the medication, refill timing, deductibles, co-payments and any prior authorization required.
Direct claim submission does not guarantee a medication or service is covered.
Pharmacist Counselling
Pharmacists are medication experts. Don't stop, change or share a prescription medication without appropriate guidance — ask instead.
Pharmacy Care and Pharmacist Prescribing
Beyond prescription services, our prescribing pharmacists may assess eligible minor health concerns, renew certain prescriptions, provide available testing, and prescribe treatment when clinically appropriate. Care begins with an individual assessment — a prescription isn't guaranteed, and some concerns need another healthcare provider.
